If you know Daniel and Megan personally, then you also know what a joy and a blessing they are to our community. Daniel and Megan and their family “unlocked new doors” at Hickory Ridge Dr. about 3 years ago, and I was so honored to be their realtor. We looked at several homes together, and this house totally caught their eye. Since moving in, they have started a huge remodel. Today, 1/2 of their home is finished and they are beginning the other 1/2.
I had the pleasure of stopping by to check out the finished work last week, and I was absolutely blown away. In fact, that would be an understatement – the remodel is gorgeous! Megan was so kind as to give me a tour, and she was willing to share her journey with you all. Enjoy!

“The bedrooms/bathrooms/laundry room remodel took about 8 months – the bedrooms and bathrooms took about 4-5, and the laundry room took about 3 months after that. We are beginning the kitchen and living area now!
We worked with Springer/Litwiller Construction Co. during our remodel, and it was such a great time. Stewart Flooring did all our tile in the bathrooms/laundry room and we love how it turned out! Springer/Litwiller Construction Co. works with an Amish-owned company in Arthur, IL, and they built all of our cabinets/vanities/benches. Daniel’s dad, Doug, is an electrician, and we were lucky enough to have him work on the wiring. Doug also had great suggestions throughout the process for us.
Perhaps one of our favorite aspects of remodeling would have been picking out all of the finishings together – making the space unique to us. The entire family is enjoying the new finished space; it feels like home! I would have to say that my favorite part of the finished product is the mudroom/laundry room – for practical reasons. I spend a decent amount of time in there and there is lots of room to move around and lots of storage available – it makes existing in this space on a daily basis more enjoyable. I would not say that I love doing laundry more than I used to though! 😉
Having Sue as our realtor was an absolute joy – she was so helpful with getting our previous home ready to sell and she was patient with us as we looked at numerous homes! We loved the location of the home and the neighborhood but we knew when we walked through the doors that we would want to update the interior eventually. Sue is so professional and good at her job and that makes everything go so smoothly! We would recommend her highly to anyone looking to buy or sell a home. She really listens to what you are looking for and facilitates everything necessary with the process. She was also so kind to work around our hectic schedule – we bought our home when the twins were 9 months old, Abe 6 years old, and Emmy 5 years old, so I know I was not at my most organized self. Sue definitely was! Thanks again, Sue!” – Megan
Thank YOU Megan, for the opportunity to walk alongside you as you and Daniel “unlocked new doors” here, and for the opportunity to come see your beautiful new remodel. I pray you and your family have many blessed years here!
