This blog was not on my schedule to write, yet here I am. This virus was not in any of our plans, yet here we are. We are currently facing a world-wide problem that has never been seen to quite this extent, and many changes have been implemented around the world and in our own state. I write this from my home, as “social distancing” is key right now for our community, but I want to assure all of you, that RE/MAX, myself, and all of the wonderful agents in the area are still here for you.
We have guidelines, of course, to handle this in the best way possible. We are truly lucky to be able to work remote, and that’s what we are doing. RE/MAX has asked us to switch over to virtual meetings with our clients whenever possible, and although this is out of my comfort zone to FaceTime my client for example, I am prepared to take this step to ensure the health and safety of my client, my community, and my family. If not possible we meet virtually, we are able to meet with a client in-person, after answering these four questions:
- Do you have a fever?
- Do you have a cough, or are experiencing difficulty breathing or shortness of breath?
- Have you had contact with a person who has a confirmed case of COVID-19?
- If you have traveled outside the United States within the past 14 days, do you have signs of fever or respiratory illness, including cough, difficulty breathing or shortness of breath?
If any of these questions are answered with a yes, then the meeting will be postponed. This same procedure applies to house showings for buyers and sellers – these questions must be answered before showing your home or touring another one.
The good news: this is not a housing crisis. As a realtor, I strongly suggest still looking to buy or sell if this is a need of you and your family! For buyers, interest rates are at an all-time low, and sellers are still selling. Life changes – marriage, children, retirement, etc. are still happening, and many people still need to “unlock new doors” and what an awesome opportunity at the moment with interest rates down.. For sellers, the inventory is also at an all-time low, allowing each home that IS on the market to appear even more desirable.
I would love to answer your concerns and questions, as well as help you through the journey of buying/selling. Please feel free to reach out to me by email – sueneihouser@remax.net, or call me! While we are going through an uncertain time, we serve a God that is certain.
