The Fourth of July is almost here friends, and all the sentimental summer festivites! July 4th celebrations embody the essence of summer living: food fresh from the grill, iced tea to beat the heat, slow-paced family time. And, of course, capping the day off with a firework show is a must!
Every year, there are some great fireworks shows in Central Illinois! I’ve listed the locations below so you can be sure to find the one that’s closest to you and your family.
- Morton McClallen Park (July 3)
- Roanoke The Jumbo (July 3)
- Chillicothe Three Sisters Park (July 4)
- Eureka Lake (July 4)
- Henry Central Park (July 4)
- Pekin Memorial Stadium (July 4)
- Peoria/East Peoria Riverfronts (July 4)
- Spring Bay American Legion Post (July 5)
I love that we have a holiday to celebrate the beginnings of America and be reminded of what our nation was built on. Although at times it is easy to take this country we live in for granted, and even to get wrapped up in the polarization of political parties and all the problems we face within our country today, I hope that this July 4th serves as a day to reflect on the values America was founded on. As we enjoy a picnic dinner at our carefully staked out plot waiting for the fireworks show, let’s thank God for the freedoms we enjoy. There is so much to be thankful for.
Whatever traditions July 4th brings for you, I hope your holiday is full of blessings!
