Roger and Sharon were such a joy to work with as they transitioned from their 5 acre property in the country into this beautiful condo in Morton. The minute we entered, we could tell the quality of this condo was amazing. It is an Eigsti built home with solid core doors, quality woodwork and cabinets, nine-foot ceilings, Andersen windows, a tiled walk-in shower, and much more. They knew this condo needed just a little refreshing to make it their very own and that is exactly what they did.
It is so rewarding for me to see how each client works with their space to make it uniquely theirs, which can look so different from home to home. At the end of the day, the most important thing is that your home is a comforting place that reflects you and your family. I believe this space is just that for Roger and Sharon, and I love seeing it!
Warm caramel colors are what Roger and Sharon love and they have brought those warm tones and homey touches into their new home so well. All the walls in the new condo were painted Believable Buff by Sherwin Williams and the guest bath was painted Steamed Milk. All the trim was already painted Alabaster by Sherwin Williams, so they were able to simply touch-up the paint to make it look brand new again! Roger and Sharon had Allred Floor Service Company sand down the shiny finish on their wood floors and put on a satin finish instead. They look brand new! They also used Tazewell Flooring in Morton to lay new Anderson Tuftex carpet. They chose the On Point line in the color Gilt. It is classy and wears well – AND it doesn’t show sweeper marks, which I personally find so amazing! They also put in a light tile by the front door that pulled the space together so beautifully.
Roger and Sharon did a great job of furnishing their home with a blend of pieces that work together to create the warm and inviting look they both love. They purchased a few pieces of furniture from the condo sellers, brought some pieces from their previous home, and even found a few additional pieces at some local thrift stores! Their sofa is from Ashley Furniture and is a perfect dark caramel color. Many of the wall hangings were purchased at the secondhand shop Used but Not Abused in Morton. Thrifting is such a great way to find unique pieces to fit your space, without breaking your budget! A personal favorite piece of mine is the little table in the laundry room with plenty of drawers for organizing. It is the perfect spot to drop your belongings when you come in the door and minimize clutter elsewhere! This table was in the foyer at their previous home, and it works so well in their new laundry room. That just shows that thinking creatively about how to repurpose the furniture you already have can be such a great way to make a new space feel like yours!
When I went to visit Roger and Sharon it was dark and cold outside, but they had the fireplace on and it was warm and cozy inside! They have created a lovely home, and they share it well. They love to entertain, are great hosts, and have many dinner parties at their home. Thank you so much for letting me walk this journey with you two! It was inspiring to me how you both know what style you love in a space, and you create that warmth so beautifully. I pray you make many wonderful memories in your lovely condo!
