Unlocking new doors is an exciting new experience with each and every client. Especially when those clients are first time home buyers, there is an air of excitement and energy that drives the whole process!
Last year, when Tristan and Jodi were searching for their first home as a newly-married couple, I was thrilled to be their realtor throughout the process. We found a house on Mississippi and they had a vision for the changes they wanted to make, turning it into the home of their dreams. And now, a year later, it was so special to have the opportunity to walk through their home and see the transformation! I am always inspired by the creativity of my clients!
Before
Tristan and Jodi had completely remodeled the main floor, and cleaned up the basement. They opened up their kitchen by removing a few walls and putting a railing around the basement stairs. They also created the cutest guest bathroom by adjusting some walls, as well as added a walk-in closet and gorgeous master bathroom off of their bedroom. I am thoroughly impressed and I love seeing their style come out in their design choices!
Jodi is super crafty and added her touch to many different elements of the home! She repainted a dresser, painted the kitchen table chairs a classy black, re-stained the kitchen table, and re-stained the fireplace mantel, just to name a few things. Her and her sister also painted the fireplace together, applying white mortar to the grout and then spreading it onto the brick. This is definitely one of the most impressive “DIY” projects I’ve seen. Well done, ladies!
Tristan and Jodi chose to paint their walls with “Repose Gray” from Sherwin Williams, and “Alabaster White” for the trim. Their kitchen cabinets are from Murray Custom Cabinetry in Peoria. The cabinets are gray, but appear blue gray in some lighting, which is a fun play on the color that adds a lot to the kitchen! The kitchen island is poured concrete by Brent Schmidgall. So fun! The kitchen pendants are from Amazon, and the fans in the house are from Menard’s. Tristan and Jodi definitely have an eye for design, and their home reflects this from floor to ceiling!
After
Thank you, Tristan and Jodi, for allowing me to be a part of your home-owning journey. It has been a pleasure to see you settle and thrive in your new home, and I wish you many years of memory-making and joy within these walls!
