….even in town!
With Spring upon us, I know we are all itching to maximize our time outside and maximize our outdoor space in these upcoming weeks. There are so many ways to make our outdoors inviting, cozy, and resourceful, but if you live in town or don’t have a lot of property, it can feel hard to achieve these things. But don’t worry – there are plenty of ways you can make the most of the outdoor space you have in town, and I have highlighted four of my favorite ways here today!
- Plant a garden. You don’t have to live on a large homestead to enjoy cooking with herbs and veggies you’ve grown yourself! Planting a few containers of basil, cilantro, peppers, and tomatoes can be a fun hobby over these next few months – and even more rewarding when you get to throw fresh basil on a pizza or make a pico de gallo with some of your homegrown tomatoes! You can use window boxes, small outdoor planters, or even some fun ceramic vessels you already own to plant in! No garden required. 🙂
- Incorporate lighting. Even if you don’t have anything more than a patio for your outside space, you can create a cozy and welcoming atmosphere simply by incorporating some lighting elements. A simple strand of Edison bulbs, a few lanterns scattered about, or even lighting a favorite candle or two outside can do wonders for making any space one that you want to be in.
- Make a seating area. This goes without saying, but one of the best ways to make the most of your outdoor area this spring is to create a seating area! You don’t need to have an elaborate outdoor area to create an inviting space for enjoying this spring. Adding a rug can really bring the area together and give it the coziness you want. Don’t forget throw pillows and blankets to cuddle up with on those fresh spring mornings!
- Design flower beds. Flowers are a great way to celebrate spring and bring that element of charm to your outdoor area, whether you have a lot of land or not! A simple row lining your patio, a few hanging ferns over your porch, or even a planter or two of blooms can really bring that brightness and energy to your outdoors, and with minimal effort!
I hope you are gearing up for plenty of wonderful spring days ahead, and I hope these tips give you some ideas of how to use your outdoor space to accomplish this! What are some of your favorite ways to embrace the return of warmer weather? I’d love to hear from you!
