I met Susan and her family a couple years ago, and she has become a dear client, acquaintance, and friend. She is so sweet, and when she approached me about a year ago about working with her to “unlock new doors”, I, of course, said yes.
We took our time and stopped at several potential places, chatting about the possibilities. When we stepped into this duplex on Robin Street though, we both had a great feeling about it. Soon after, the duplex was in Susan’s name.
I knew Susan wanted to remodel, so we talked about some local businesses that she could work with, and she set to work! I told her I would love to see the finished product, so last week I swung by to see her lovely new home, and we chatted about the entire process. We looked at her new sink, counter-top, flooring, cabinetry, beautiful new chandelier above her table, and her kitchen rug that she braided herself!! Susan has a gift – the rug was gorgeous. It was such a joy to catch up, and she would love to share her journey with you.
” Sue helped us find a house for our son a while back. Next, she helped us sell our house, and then she helped me find this condo. She was patient throughout the entire process and available when we needed her – patiently trying to fill all of my specifics for a new home. I loved hearing her many helpful suggestions, and she always considered my opinions. I couldn’t be happier with my new home, and I am always happy to recommend Sue to anyone looking for a realtor.
After I moved in, I started the remodeling process. I purchased my new hardwood floor from Carpet Weavers, and my new shades from Solar Shield in East Peoria. I would recommend both! I’ve used them both before and they are very helpful answering questions and making suggestions, as well as getting the jobs done right. Then I started to work with Louisa Jane out of Tremont, and the process was a breeze! I wanted to redesign my kitchen to be more useful and efficient for me, and they did such a great job. Someone from Louisa Jane was always updating me on the progress or checking with me frequently to make sure I could get my questions answered or concerns addressed. I was confident that the job would be done well and to my satisfaction, and it was! They added on a short wall by the front door, and this small step itself allowed for a lot more cabinet space in the kitchen! The remodel took a few months from start to finish. Thanks Louisa Jane for all your work! My kitchen is beautiful and so practical at the same time.
My favorite part of remodeling would be moving back into the new kitchen, and being able to live in my new space. Now, I don’t have odd-shaped cupboards any more, and my cupboards are accessible without crawling on the floor. So many elements are improved, especially all the drawers on the lower half, instead of cupboards. I love my new chandelier as well hanging above my kitchen table. If I had to remodel all over again, I would probably know to ask more questions, especially the time frame for each step. I wasn’t prepared for the length of time each step would take, and know I have much more of an idea!” – Susan
Thanks Susan, for the absolute pleasure working with you! I could not be more thrilled for where “unlocking new doors” led you, and this condo fits you perfectly. I pray for many years of blessings for you here.
