I know I’ve said this over and over, but I seriously can not help but realize how blessed I am to meet so many wonderful clients who become fast friends. It’s a double blessing when I already am friends with my client and get to help them “unlock new doors”. Last year I had the pleasure of walking alongside Saehan and Summer when they purchased a gorgeous country home. Summer’s mother, Lynn, and I are fast friends, so it was extra special for me as a realtor!
After Saehan and Summer made their purchase, they set to work remodeling their home to make it fit their family. Lynn coordinated much of the remodel, so I was privileged to hear first-hand how the remodel was moving along! Last week I was able to go back and visit Saehan and Summer and their family once the home was complete and I was stunned to see the amazing work that had been done – I hardly recognized it!
The woodwork had been changed from the dark Oak to a gorgeous white all over the house and the wall paint was now a lovely gray. Lynn informed me they chose a Benjamin Moore paint color named Tundra, but after it was applied, Summer decided it was too light. They switched to a different Benjamin Moore paint named Repose Gray and the color popped gorgeously with the natural light from all the windows. Lynn thought the gray had a little too much purple shining through, but Summer was in love with it, and after seeing it in person, I have to say the paint color was perfect for the home.
The couple kept the original wood floors and had them sanded down and re-stained a very neutral color. They then ripped out the carpet in the Great Room and added wood flooring – thankfully, they were able to make the wood flooring match! I am a huge fan of consistent flooring throughout a home. I think it flows so nicely and really opens up a space.
In the bedrooms, Lynn had coordinated some new carpet, and they changed out the door handles and hinges all over the house. The new light fixtures were beautiful as well, and all the new hardware reminded me how even small elements can make a huge difference in the overall look. Below, I captured some photos of the Great Room. I think it is a stunning transformation!
Before
The hunter green ceramic tiles around the fireplace they changed to a dark gray color, and the stairway railing they had painted as well. The spindles were painted white, and the top and bottom railings were painted an even darker tundra in the same Benjamin Moore paint family to coordinate with the wall color! You can see a peek of the kitchen as well, with the freshly painted white cabinets. It was all so pretty!
After
What an exciting morning for me to be able to go back and see my clients who became dear friends – such a treat to see them enjoying their beautiful home. A big thanks to Summer and Saehan for letting me visit, and I hope they make wonderful memories here for many years to come.
