I had the extreme pleasure of working alongside Kent and Holly Levy helping them sell their home. They have since moved into another house, and it has been a joy for me to watch this lovely couple and their family create another home in this new house. I would love to share their journey with all of you. I grabbed coffee with Holly a couple weeks ago, and this is her story about how they remodeled their new kitchen!
“We didn’t think the kitchen was that bad when we originally bought the house, but shortly after moving in we realized it was too small for our family, and I wanted more counter space. I had also always wanted white cabinets, so I began looking online for ideas. The family we bought the house from had previously drawn up some plans to re-do the kitchen, and they were nice enough to share them with us! We spent a lot of time on Pinterest, and our contractor suggested RP Lumber for our cabinets. RP Lumber also provides a design service if you purchase cabinets from them, and we enjoyed working with them! They came out to our home and measured everything – I told her what I wanted in the kitchen and the designer drew up a design we loved. I also really wanted an island but wasn’t sure it was possible with the space – she made it fit! I found a picture on Instagram that was my inspiration, and was able to base of lot of decisions from that. In the end, it was definitely a pain to be without a kitchen for 6 weeks but it was totally worth it, and we love how it looks! We are still in the process of adding white subway tile as the backsplash. While in the remodeling process, they had to close off the door to our laundry room, right off the kitchen. So we had to repaint the whole room and I decided it would be a good room to experiment with something fun as the flooring. I had come across a picture of painted tile on Pinterest, and I loved it! My mom and I stenciled and painted, and it’s so fun to walk in there now. It makes the laundry room more cheerful. We are also going to paint the cabinets in the laundry room white, and add a door off the kitchen. I already love how it all turned out, and the little unique feel it has added to our house, but I know I will love it more when it is totally complete!”
Holly also was kind and chatted about her experience working alongside me to sell their old home.
“We loved working with Sue – she is a great communicator and very thorough – all of which helped us immensely. We felt like she was a great advocate for us, as well as very patient with us and sweet to our children. Thanks so much!”
I am very impressed with all of my clients and all of their hard work and remodeling skills. I know Kent and Holly will continue to make their house a home, and I am blessed to continue our working relationship as close friends, and get a front row seat to all of the doors they unlocked along the way!
Holly was kind enough to share before and after pictures below – enjoy!
